The Dial Range, a rugged chain of peaks and valleys on Tasmania’s North-West Coast, stands as a place of remarkable natural, cultural, and economic significance. This report, commissioned by the Central Coast Council, provided an assessment of the current value and future potential of the Dial Range. The analysis was underpinned by best-practice economic frameworks, stakeholder insights, and local data to inform future sustainable management and development decisions for the region.

Beyond the Stage: Economic value and potential of the City Recital Hall (2024)
A report demonstrating the economic potential and social impact of the City Recital Hall. Nova Economics collated, cleaned and analysed multiple internal financial spreadsheets to develop a detailed understanding of the operational profile of the City Recital Hall for importing into an input-output modelling framework. This was supplemented with engagement of five key stakeholders of the Hall to support demonstration of their broader social benefit.

State of Sustainable Tourism in Australia (2025)
Nova Economics was engaged by Ecotourism Tasmania to produce a dynamic dashboard and stakeholder report on the state of sustainable tourism in Australia. The analysis was underpinned by Ecotourism Australia's Sustainability Scorecard database and will be used by Ecotourism Australia to demonstrate the success and take up of the Sustainability Scorecard initiative and broader sustainability trends of Australia's tourism industry to key stakeholders.

Australian Agritourism Dashboard (2025)
Nova Economics was engaged by Tourism Australia to provide database cleaning and collation services of all potential Agritourism operations in the Australia Tourism Data Warehouses business registry. The work involved AI supported agritourism categorisation of over 10,000 listed businesses, and subsequent interactive Microsoft Excel dashboard design and Power BI supported spatial mapping of agritourism operations in Australia.

The Central Highlands of Tasmania present a unique opportunity to deliver a standout tourism experience leveraging the region’s pristine lakes, cultural heritage, and untapped potential. Nova Economics was engaged by Destination Southern Tasmania to conduct a Cost Benefit Analysis and develop a Business Case report for a new and iconic visitor experience, Cold Lake Wellness Experience, that will drive growth in Tasmania’s Central Heartlands.

Broome Cruise market analysis and outlook (2026)
Nova Economics, in partnership with Arup, was engaged by Kimberley Ports Authroity to produce a feasibility assessment report on the establishment of Port of Broome as a First Point of Entry for cruise vessels. Nova Economics provided a detailed cruise market analysis cross-examining the role and potential of the Port of Broome with key global and regional trends and changing travel behaviours. The analysis presented a suite of cruise activity outlook scenarios ultimately used to inform an economic impact assessment and business case decisions.

Value of Mountain Biking to Tasmania's Economy (2025)
Nova Economics was engaged to conduct the economic modelling underpinning a report by episteme Consulting on the value of Mountain Biking to Tasmania’s economy. The report is being used by the Mountain Biking Network and councils to advocate for funding for new trails, trail maintenance and supporting infrastructure, as well as marketing.

Value of State Government investment in tourism to Tasmania (2026)
Nova Economics conducted economic modelling and analysis to demonstrate the value of tourism to Tasmania, and the potential impact of a change in state government tourism investment strategy. Forecasts of the direct and indirect value of tourism in GSP, value added, fiscal revenue, household income, and employment terms were produced across a range of investment scenarios to provide a comprehensive understanding of the value of ongoing state government investment in tourism.
